Number 54 has been in our family for almost 30 years…

…and we have been coming to Vale do Lobo since 1981.

The house is one of the Aldeamento villas, built in the 70s, and designed like Portuguese cottages or townhouses, with numerous terraces and al fresco spaces, terracotta floors, white walls, and a view of the sea.

The entire area is pedestrianised with traditional Portuguese cobbled paths, and outside our villa there is plenty of space for children to play, or for adults to sit and people-watch. It is beautifully quiet, and landscaped with traditional Portuguese plants and flowers along every walkway.

All you need to know…

Sleeping & Bedding

Number 54 has two bedrooms, and two bathrooms, but can sleep five/six with the addition of a sofa bed or spare mattress. Beds are made from traditional handpainted Portuguese wood, and all blankets, sheets, duvets, pillows, and throws are provided. There is also a travel cot, with a mattress and bedding, available at no extra charge, and plenty of spare blankets and pillows.

Cooking & Eating

The kitchen has a gas hob and oven, kettle, toaster, juicer, Nespresso machine, fridge freezer, microwave, and dishwasher, cooking pans and dishes, knives and all the utensils you could need! Salt, pepper, olive oil, spices, pasta and rice are also available for guests’ use. The villa is also well-stocked with traditional Portuguese crockery, glassware and tablecloths, candles and lanterns. There are tables on two of the terraces, a table inside and two highchairs.

Basics & Essentials

The villa has WIFI, good phone/4G signal, and air conditioning in the main living space and both bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one with a bath and shower; and one with a walk-in shower. There is also a washing machine. In the cosy sitting room is a large corner sofa, and a television with satellite and sports channels. There is also a portable Sony speaker, board games, cards and books. Guests can also make use of beach towels, beach toys, body boards, beach chairs, inflatables, buckets and spades, two parasols.

Outside Spaces

There are four terraces for you to enjoy, and plenty of space for the whole family to relax. A large space at the front of the villa for dining and relaxing (and people-watching!); a smaller space off the kitchen which offers a cool retreat in the hotter summer months; an enclosed roof terrace that makes a perfect sunbathing spot; and a small balcony off the upstairs bedroom that offers a lovely vista across the terracotta rooftops and to the ocean beyond.

Children & Safety

Children are very welcome - in fact, they will love it here. The villa is situated in an entirely pedestrianised enclave, and outside the villa there is plenty of space for children to roam and explore. We have a basket full of children’s toys, games and books, plastic cups, plates, bowls and cutlery, as well as two high chairs and a travel cot. Please be aware though, there are no stairgates and the villa is on four levels with several stairs in between each level, and minimal bannisters.
